Hi, I'm Donna Lee, your Head Trustee and High Priestess! I just wanted to tell you a bit about myself and what inspired me to start The Free Church of the Divine Marriage.
You see, I've been studying the psychological theories of Carl Jung intensely as a self-taught person and applying them to my life for over three decades. In 1993, I got permission from Carl Jung's estate's representatives to paraphrase some of his basic theories for public consumption (I still have the letter from Jung's Estate and will be glad to fax a copy to any interested parties) on a 900 number hotline here in the U.S., which I chose to call, "The New Age Hotline." I had also financial help from a partner named, Tony Pica, in making this hotline a reality, as well as a later grant from New York State. This line also had information on other "New Age" subjects which are really "Age Old!" including Numerology, Reincarnation and Life After Death, Kabbalah and Angels, The Lost Continent of Atlantis, as well as Jung's Theories. This line is no longer extant but if I see there is a call for it, I may reinstate it. I also wrote and cassette-taped four-minute long sketches on this subject to be read on radio, to be called, "New Age Minute," but they never were aired there. In February and May 2005, respectively, I was published in the Mountain Astrologer and Dell Horoscope with two articles called, "Saturn and the Shadow" and "Jung's Personality Types and Astrology" which discussed how some of Jung's theories relate to astrology. I've been studying and applying astrology in my life even longer than I've been doing so with Jung's theories! Also in 2005, I started a website for writers. I've also been widely published elsewhere, beginning with my college newspaper, from Queens College in Flushing, NY, called, Newsbeat, in 1977, which newspaper is now defunct. I've also been published twice in the New York Times letters to the editors sections of their Sunday magazine and Sunday business sections in 1992 and 1993, on what is the best kind of love (it's probably not what you think!), and about government business loans, respectively. I competed for the Pulitzer Prize in 2009 with my book, entitled, Nowheresville, Everywhere, Earth. I have just completed my entry for the Pulitzer again for 2018 with a volume of poetry I've written, entitled, The Universal Mother, which book I've dedicated to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, with whom I had an over three-year long colloquy with her and her Chambers repeatedly warmly praising my wisdom and thanking me for my generosity for gifts I'd sent as well as to others important in my life. I published eight (8) books on amazon.com's Kindle e-reader in 2012 alone (and more since!), which you can see free previews of by going to amazon's website and choosing their Kindle Store and entering my name. All my books have black and green covers except my Pulitzer contender mentioned above. Also, I published two more volumes of my dreams journals in 2013, which journals I've been keeping also for many decades, which I called, The Interpretation of Dreams, after Freud's title in 1900 because I think mine are just as ground-breaking, especially for an African-American woman and to try to sell more copies!
I'm also trying to start food/iced tea lines/brand to be mass-marketed in supermarkets in the U.S., U.K., and Canada, hopefully by the end of 2018 which recipes include three of the most powerful (nutrient dense) super foods that I've ever encountered, namely Quinoa (also known as "Kinwa" and pronounced, "Keenwa"), Chia Seed, and Moringa. I've had raves over my cooking from my teens! I learned how to cook mainly from watching and working with my mother, especially about what is most healthful to eat. My father and my mother, Russell and Olga Lee were famous cooks at Columbia University's fraternity house, St. Anthony Hall, near 116 Street on Riverside Drive, in 1965, when our family lived there! I was inspired to try to start my own food line after trying to help two other famous celebrity chefs, Robbie Montgomery, formerly an "Ikette" of the Ike and Tina Turner Review and lately of "Sweetie Pie's" in Missouri, as well as "Coach PR," of Burgandy's in Jamaica, NY, neither of whom wanted to listen to me. I then thought, "Wait a minute! Why am I trying to help these people when I can do it for myself; I'm a great cook and my recipes are way more healthful than theirs are and as delicious, if not more so!" And so I set to work! Finally, in this vein, I am trying to raise funds to conduct, with the help of a consultant, who will provide the medical professionals necessary to do so, a clinical trial through the NIH (National Institutes of Health) to scientifically prove (or scientifically disprove) the efficacy of an herbal remedy/cure for cancer called Essiac that has also much anecdotal evidence for its efficacy in treating/curing other diseases such as diabetes. I was also inspired to start the Free Church of the Divine Marriage after doing much research and feeling that I have achieved after long and arduous struggle at least some mastery over the Articles of Faith of our church which mastery was revealed to me by recent dreams of mine and by recent turns of events in my outer life as well. This journey is never complete for any of us, while we live. But it is a good feeling to know that we can reach certain significant milestones in mastering ourselves after doing our inner work with joy and seriousness, in that order!
Note: Title 26 of the Federal Tax Code and IRS Publications both clearly state that a church need not file with the IRS to be exempt from tax or for their offerings to be "tax deductible." We are not required to apply for 501(c)(3) status to be tax exempt. You are therefore not allowed to discriminate against our church for not having filed paperwork that the law does not require us to file.
